Understanding dental implants.
A dental implant replaces the root of a missing tooth with a small titanium post placed in the jawbone. Once it has bonded with the bone, a custom crown is fitted on top, so the tooth looks and works like your own.
Because the implant stands on its own, neighbouring teeth are left untouched. Whether an implant suits you depends on your bone, gums and general health, which we check at your consultation before any plan is made.
Is this the right treatment for you?
You are missing one tooth and want a fixed replacement
You have several missing teeth and chewing is difficult
Your denture feels loose or uncomfortable
You want to avoid grinding down healthy neighbouring teeth
What to expect, step by step.
No surprises. You know what happens at each stage before it starts.
Consultation and scan
We examine your mouth, review your health and take scans to check the bone where the implant would sit.
Implant placement
The titanium post is placed in the jaw under local anaesthetic, in a calm, unhurried setting.
Healing
Over the following weeks the post bonds with the bone. We review your progress and answer questions.
Crown fitted
A custom crown, matched to your teeth, is fitted on the implant and the bite is fine-tuned.

Things patients ask us.
Have another question? Call the clinic and we will gladly explain.
Is the treatment painful?
The area is numbed with local anaesthetic, so you should not feel pain during placement. Some tenderness afterwards is normal and we explain how to manage it.
How long does it take?
The full process usually spans a few months because the implant needs time to bond with the bone. Your dentist gives you a timeline after the scan.
Am I suitable for an implant?
Most healthy adults can be considered. Bone volume, gum health and some medical conditions matter, so we assess each case individually.
How much does it cost?
The cost depends on how many teeth are replaced and what preparation is needed. You receive a clear estimate after your examination, before any treatment begins.
